ARO

ARO was a Romanian vehicle manufacturer that specialized in durable four-wheel-drive models built for demanding terrain and practical use. Established in Câmpulung, the company began vehicle production in 1957 and developed a reputation through models such as the M461, ARO 24 Series, and compact ARO 10. Its vehicles used straightforward mechanical layouts and were available in several configurations, including SUVs, convertibles, and pickups with gasoline or diesel engines. ARO exported much of its production, giving the brand a presence well beyond its domestic market. Production ended in the early 2000s, followed by the company’s bankruptcy in 2006, but its rugged utility vehicles remain a notable part of Romanian automotive history.
