Reva
The REVA car brand was an Indian electric vehicle pioneer best remembered for its tiny two-seat city car, sold internationally as the REVAi and G-Wiz. Developed in Bengaluru under Chetan Maini, the original REVA entered production in 2001 with compact dimensions, simple electric propulsion, and a short driving range suited mainly to urban travel. Its unusual proportions and limited performance made it a niche vehicle, but it reached global markets well before modern battery-electric cars became common. Mahindra & Mahindra acquired a controlling stake in the company in 2010, creating Mahindra Reva. The technology and engineering experience later supported the Mahindra e2o, while the standalone REVA name gradually disappeared from production vehicles.
