Rover
The Rover car brand was a British automaker associated with refined engineering, comfortable road manners, and understated design. Beginning automobile production in 1904, Rover later developed respected models such as the P4, P5, P6, SD1, and Rover 75. The company also created the original Land Rover in 1948 before that name evolved into a separate marque. During later decades, Rover became part of British Leyland and subsequently Rover Group, producing family hatchbacks and sedans that often shared technology with Honda. Ownership changes and financial difficulties eventually led to the collapse of MG Rover in 2005, ending volume production of Rover-badged cars. Today, surviving models appeal to enthusiasts interested in traditional British styling and automotive history.
