The SSC Tuatara was conceived around an uncompromising aerodynamic brief: achieve extreme speed without relying on a bulky, high-drag shape. Its engineering ambition is reflected in a powertrain developed to operate on different fuel blends.
For 2020–2026, the 5.9-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 1,750 hp and 1,328 lb·ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, with double-wishbone suspension at both ends. The combination of immense output and a 2,932 lb curb weight underpins the Tuatara's extraordinary performance claims, including a listed 0–60 mph time of 2.5 seconds.
