The 2001–2004 Alfa Romeo 166 2.5 V6 24v combines the imposing proportions of Alfa Romeo's executive sedan with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter V6. Producing 185 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque, the DOHC 24-valve engine drives the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. It reaches a 140 mph top speed and takes 8.1 seconds from 0–60 mph, giving the 166 a refined but purposeful character. The transverse V6 also uses multi-point fuel injection, preserving the smooth power delivery associated with Alfa Romeo's larger naturally aspirated engines.
