The 2011–2017 Hennessey Venom GT takes the idea of an extreme road-going supercar to another level, pairing a rear-mid-mounted 7.0-liter bi-turbo V8 with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual transmission. The GM LS7 engine produces 1,244 hp and 1,155 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm, giving this two-seat Targa top a 2.7-second 0–60 mph time and a 270 mph top speed. With a 2.2 lb/hp power-to-weight ratio, its performance is defined by enormous output and a remarkably low 2,743-pound curb weight.
Double-wishbone suspension is used at both ends, supported by vented disc brakes and 265/30R19 front and 345/30R20 rear tyres. Measuring 183.3 × 77.2 × 44.7 inches with a 110.2-inch wheelbase, the Venom GT has 63.5-inch front and 63.1-inch rear tracks. Its 18.5-gallon fuel tank accompanies a listed 11.7 mpg combined economy and 215-mile total range, while the page also lists 5.6 seconds for 0–100 mph and 13.6 seconds for 0–186 mph.
