The Koenigsegg Agera marked a major turning point for the Swedish marque, taking the lightweight engineering philosophy of the earlier CC models into a new generation of hypercars. Unveiled in 2010 and represented here across 2011–2017, it introduced a redesigned twin-turbocharged powertrain, a new interior with Koenigsegg’s distinctive Ghost lighting, and turbine-inspired VGR wheels designed to help extract heat from the brakes. The Agera also became the foundation for the more specialized Agera R, S and RS, making it an important chapter in Koenigsegg’s rapid evolution.
Power came from a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 960 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, with a 7-speed automated transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Koenigsegg quoted 0–62 mph in 3.0 seconds and a 261 mph top speed, figures that placed the Agera firmly among the era’s extreme performance cars. Its rear-mid-engine layout and low 3,164-pound curb weight further emphasized the engineering focus behind its performance.
