The Koenigsegg Agera S was created for a specific challenge: bringing the Agera R’s extraordinary performance to markets where E85 fuel was not readily available. Rather than simply detuning the formula, Koenigsegg developed a petrol-focused version that still delivered hypercar-level performance on conventional high-octane fuel. Produced from 2012 to 2014, the Agera S also introduced the company’s Aircore hollow carbon-fiber wheels, reducing unsprung mass while becoming one of the model’s defining technical features. Only five examples were produced, giving the S an unusually exclusive place within the Agera family.
At its heart is a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 1,030 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a specially developed 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Koenigsegg quoted 0–62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed exceeding 400 km/h, while the carbon-fiber construction and adjustable Öhlins suspension were engineered to keep its immense performance usable at speed.
