The Grand Tourneo Connect marked a significant change in Ford’s approach to the compact people-carrier market, bringing a larger, more flexible body to the familiar Tourneo formula. The 2013–2015 Ford Grand Tourneo Connect 1.6 TDCi 75 was aimed at drivers who valued usable space above outright performance, with its extended proportions creating a generous load area while retaining a relatively manageable footprint. Its five-door layout and front-wheel-drive configuration made it equally suited to family transportation and practical everyday duties.
The 1.6-liter TDCi diesel is the quieter part of the story, producing 74 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm through a five-speed manual transmission. Acceleration is understandably leisurely, but the low torque peak gives the engine useful flexibility when the vehicle is carrying passengers or cargo. Fuel economy is a stronger point, with 47 mpg combined on the AutoSpecsHub figures. With up to 97.5 cubic feet of luggage space, the Grand Tourneo Connect demonstrates why versatility, rather than speed, was central to its design.
