The 2019–2026 Ariel Atom 4 represents a major evolution of Ariel's minimalist approach to performance. Almost entirely redesigned from its predecessor, it combines an exposed tubular chassis with the Honda K20C 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 320 hp and 420 Nm. A six-speed manual transmission sends the power to the rear wheels, while the remarkably low weight allows the Atom to deliver supercar-level acceleration without needing a huge engine or complicated drivetrain.

Its appeal lies in how directly every part of the car serves the driving experience. Double-wishbone suspension, powerful disc brakes and a highly developed aerodynamic package give the Atom 4 the precision needed for serious road and track driving, while its open cockpit leaves almost nothing between the driver and the mechanical character of the car. Ariel claims 0–62 mph in 2.8 seconds and a 162 mph top speed, but the numbers only tell part of the story. The Atom 4 is fundamentally about lightness, immediacy and involvement, making it one of the most uncompromising modern interpretations of a road-legal performance car.
