The Grenadier was conceived as an alternative to the increasingly road-focused SUV, and the petrol Station Wagon stays remarkably close to that original brief. Its upright body, exposed hinges, squared-off proportions, and traditional four-wheel-drive hardware give it the appearance of a tool designed for difficult terrain rather than city streets. Yet the petrol version adds a smoother, more responsive character to that rugged foundation. For 2022–2026, it offered a distinctive blend of old-school off-road engineering and modern powertrain technology.
A BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six produces 282 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, with maximum torque available from 1,750 rpm. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the power through an all-wheel-drive system. The result is an SUV capable of reaching 99 mph and accelerating from 0–60 mph in 8.3 seconds, giving the Grenadier enough performance for the road while retaining its serious off-road purpose.
