The Gemera HV8 challenges the usual idea of what a hypercar should be. Instead of sacrificing passenger space and long-distance usability for extreme performance, Koenigsegg developed a four-seat grand tourer with dramatic proportions and enough room to make the car genuinely usable with family or friends. The HV8 powertrain makes that practicality even more extraordinary, combining a compact combustion engine with electric assistance and a direct-drive transmission. It is a technical showcase, but its most unusual quality is how it tries to make hypercar performance compatible with everyday versatility.
For 2024–2026, the Gemera HV8 combines a 2.0-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder engine with three electric motors for a combined 2,300 hp and 2,028 lb-ft of torque. Koenigsegg’s Light Speed Tourbillon transmission sends power to all four wheels, while 0–60 mph takes a claimed 1.9 seconds. The result is a four-seat machine with performance figures far beyond those normally associated with a grand tourer.
