The McMurtry Spéirling PURE takes the idea of a performance car in an unusually extreme direction, combining a tiny, single-seat body with technology developed around maximum aerodynamic performance. Its compact proportions and remarkably low roofline give it a distinctive appearance, but the real story lies beneath the dramatic shape: the PURE is built around electric propulsion and a lightweight construction philosophy intended to deliver extraordinary acceleration. McMurtry's approach makes the car feel closer to a specialized competition machine than a conventional road-going supercar, with its compact footprint and focused cockpit reinforcing its singular purpose.
For 2025–2026, the Spéirling PURE uses an electric powertrain producing 1,000 hp, supplied by a 100-kWh battery. Direct drive sends power to the rear wheels, while the single-seat coupe reaches 185 mph. Its 1.5-second 0–60 mph acceleration is the defining performance figure, and the 2,646-pound curb weight gives the PURE an exceptional power-to-weight relationship for an electric performance machine.
