2003–2005 Alpina Z4 Roadster S Specs & Performance

The 2003–2005 ALPINA Roadster S was ALPINA's answer to the performance gap left by the first-generation BMW Z4 before BMW introduced its own Z4 M. Based on the Z4, it received a hand-built 3.4-liter inline-six developed by ALPINA, producing 300 PS and 362 Nm, but the engine was only part of the transformation.

Unlike many ALPINAs of the era, the Roadster S was offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox, giving it a more driver-focused character. ALPINA also revised the suspension, fitted performance-oriented Michelin tyres and distinctive 19-inch wheels, and gave the roadster subtle aerodynamic changes. The result was not simply a more powerful Z4, but a carefully reworked sports car that combined ALPINA's refinement with considerably sharper performance. With a factory 0–100 km/h time of 5.3 seconds, the Roadster S occupies a particularly interesting place in ALPINA history as a rare, enthusiast-focused open-top model.
