With the Grand Tourneo Connect, Ford moved its compact people-carrier concept into a more spacious and modern package. The 2013–2015 Grand Tourneo Connect 1.6 TDCi 115 combines a tall five-door body with room for up to seven occupants, while its flexible cargo area can grow considerably when the rear seats are folded. That combination makes it particularly relevant to families and small operators who need one vehicle to switch between passenger duties and carrying bulky loads.
The 1.6-liter TDCi is the stronger diesel in this early lineup, producing 113 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 rpm. A six-speed manual transmission sends the power through the front wheels, giving the Connect a broader spread of ratios than the smaller-engined versions. Its 48 mpg combined economy also suits long-distance use, while the 1,468-pound payload leaves meaningful capacity for passengers and equipment. The Grand Tourneo Connect is therefore less about driving excitement and more about making one compact vehicle perform several practical roles well.
