2021–2026 Ariel Nomad R Specs & Performance

The 2021–2026 Ariel Nomad R takes the already unconventional Nomad and turns it into a much more focused performance machine. Its supercharged 2.0-liter inline-four produces 335 hp and 330 Nm, with a six-speed sequential gearbox sending power to the rear wheels. At just 670 kg, the Nomad R has an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio, allowing it to reach 62 mph in 2.9 seconds. Ariel developed it with tarmac rally and track use in mind, giving the lightweight off-road machine a very different character from the standard Nomad.

Its mechanical simplicity remains central to the experience. Bilstein adjustable dampers, Eibach springs, lightweight 18-inch wheels and powerful four-piston brakes sharpen the chassis, while the exposed structure and long-travel suspension preserve the Nomad's rugged identity. Limited to only five examples, the R version is as much about rarity as outright performance. Rather than adding complexity, Ariel concentrated on extracting more speed and precision from an extremely light platform, creating a machine that sits somewhere between an off-road buggy, a rally car and a road-legal track weapon.
