The 2015–2025 Ariel Nomad takes the extreme simplicity of the Atom and adapts it for a very different environment: fast off-road driving. Its 2.4-liter Honda K24 four-cylinder produces 235 hp and 300 Nm, sending power through a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential to the rear wheels. With a remarkably low 670-kg weight, long-travel suspension and substantial ground clearance, the Nomad was designed to turn rough terrain into part of the driving experience rather than something to avoid.

Its exposed tubular structure, full rollover protection and double-wishbone suspension give the Nomad a character unlike conventional off-road vehicles. Ariel deliberately kept the machine light and mechanically simple, allowing rear-wheel drive to work surprisingly effectively away from paved roads. A claimed 0–60 mph time of about 3.4 seconds also gives it the pace to match its unusual appearance. The result is an off-road performance machine that combines the immediacy of a lightweight sports car with the suspension travel and ruggedness needed for gravel, mud and uneven terrain.
