The MG HS EHS PHEV brought plug-in hybrid technology to MG’s family SUV range, combining a practical five-seat crossover with the flexibility of electric driving and petrol-powered touring. Its contemporary styling, spacious cabin and versatile layout make it suited to everyday commuting and longer family journeys. The hybrid system allows shorter trips to be completed on electric power when the battery is charged, while the petrol engine provides additional flexibility for journeys beyond the electric range.
The 2021–2024 MG HS EHS PHEV combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 255 hp and 273 lb-ft of combined torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels, enabling 0–60 mph in 6.7 seconds and 0–62 mph in 6.9 seconds. Top speed reaches 118 mph, while the 14.9 kWh net battery provides a listed electric range of 38 miles. This combination delivers useful performance alongside the flexibility of plug-in hybrid driving.
