The JAECOO J7 SHS takes a conventional compact SUV shape and gives it a distinctly electrified personality. Rather than treating the hybrid system as a minor efficiency aid, JAECOO built this version around a plug-in powertrain that can operate on electric power for daily driving while retaining a turbocharged petrol engine for longer journeys. The result is a modern SUV focused as much on flexible energy use as on outright performance, with a spacious five-seat cabin and a drivetrain designed to move between electric and combustion power.
The 2024–2026 J7 SHS combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a 150-kW electric motor and 18.32-kWh battery. System output is 347 hp and 525 Nm, while a dedicated hybrid transmission drives the front wheels. The SUV reaches 174 km/h and takes 8.5 seconds to reach 62 mph, giving the plug-in hybrid a useful balance of performance and electric driving capability.
