The Triumph TR4 brought a more modern appearance to the British roadster formula, combining Michelotti-influenced styling with a practical two-seat sports-car layout. Its wide front grille, sculpted bonnet and clean body lines give it a distinctive presence, while the open cockpit maintains the traditional appeal of British motoring. Beneath its updated exterior, the TR4 retains a conventional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive arrangement and a live rear axle, offering a straightforward mechanical character that appeals to enthusiasts of traditional sports cars.
Produced from 1961–1965, the TR4 uses a 2.1-litre naturally aspirated inline-four gasoline engine with an OHV valvetrain and carburetor fuel delivery. It produces 100 hp at 4,600 rpm and 127 lb-ft of torque at 3,350 rpm, paired with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. Its performance includes a 0–60 mph time of 10.8 seconds and a 110 mph top speed. With seating for two and 5.8 cubic feet of luggage capacity, it combines sporting character with useful roadster practicality.
