The Ultima GTR 640 was created to demonstrate how far a lightweight, road-legal supercar could be pushed without relying on complex electronics or forced induction. Its low-slung coupe body surrounds a rear-mid-mounted Chevrolet-derived V8, while a tubular chassis and double-wishbone suspension help keep the package focused on mechanical grip and driver control. The result is a distinctly purposeful machine, shaped more by performance engineering than luxury-car convention.
The 2005–2014 GTR 640 pairs a naturally aspirated 7.0-litre American Speed LS V8 with a claimed 640 hp and 578 lb·ft of torque. Power reaches the rear wheels through a manual transmission, and the car's listed 2,183-pound weight helps explain its 2.8-second 0–60 mph acceleration claim. With a published 231 mph top speed, it stands among the most extreme road-going interpretations of the original GTR formula.
