2006 Ascari A10 Specs & Performance

The Ascari A10 was conceived as a road-going expression of the British marque's racing ambitions, taking the lightweight engineering of the KZ1-R and pushing it toward extreme road-car performance. Produced in 2006, it combined a carbon-fiber-based construction with a highly tuned 4.9-liter BMW V8 positioned behind the cabin. Producing 625 hp at 7,500 rpm and 443 lb-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated engine gave the compact two-seat coupé exceptional performance, while rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission kept the driving experience intensely mechanical. Its 217 mph top speed and 2.9-second 0–60 mph time placed it firmly among the most serious performance cars of its era.

The A10's character came from its close relationship with motorsport rather than from electronic assistance or luxury-focused engineering. Double-wishbone suspension, vented disc brakes and wide 19-inch tires supported a chassis designed around driver involvement, while its 2,822-pound weight helped the V8 deliver an impressive power-to-weight ratio. The result was a brutally focused supercar with distinctive British individuality, combining race-bred hardware with enough refinement to remain road legal. Its rarity and uncompromising engineering have since made the A10 one of Ascari's most memorable creations.
