2006 Prodrive P2 Specs & Performance

The Prodrive P2 is a compact performance prototype that demonstrates how rally engineering can be translated into an unconventional road-car concept. Developed by British motorsport specialist Prodrive, it combines a low, purposeful silhouette with a lightweight structure and styling by Peter Stevens, known for his work on the McLaren F1. Its front-mounted boxer engine and sophisticated all-wheel-drive system reflect its Subaru rally-car foundations, while the two-seat cockpit keeps the focus on driving involvement. Rather than following the conventional supercar formula, the P2 showcases Prodrive’s expertise in traction, chassis engineering and turbocharged performance.

Unveiled in 2006, the P2 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four petrol engine based on Subaru’s EJ207, producing 349 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox sends power to all four wheels, while double-wishbone suspension at both ends supports precise handling. With a reported 0–60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph, it delivers impressive performance for a car weighing approximately 2,425 pounds.
