The Duster 1.6 16v 110 4x2 was one of the simplest expressions of Dacia’s original compact-SUV formula. Its naturally aspirated 1.6-litre petrol engine delivers 105 PS and 148 Nm, working through a five-speed manual transmission to the front wheels. There is no turbocharger or sophisticated all-wheel-drive system here; instead, the powertrain keeps the vehicle mechanically straightforward while giving it enough performance for ordinary road use. That simplicity fits the Duster’s practical, no-nonsense identity particularly well.
For 2010–2015, the front-wheel-drive Duster offered useful versatility without the additional weight and complexity of four-wheel drive. Its 443–1,604-litre luggage capacity gives the compact SUV plenty of room for everyday carrying duties, while the 11.5-second 0–62 mph time reflects its relaxed rather than sporty character. The combination of naturally aspirated power, useful ground clearance and uncomplicated mechanical hardware helped establish the Duster as a functional alternative to more expensive compact SUVs.
