The Renault Wind 1.6 16V is a compact two-seat roadster that pairs the agility of a small car with the character of an open-top sports model. Its distinctive retractable hardtop gives it the flexibility to switch between an enclosed coupe-like cabin and open-air driving, while its short proportions make it well suited to winding roads and urban environments. Unlike larger sports cars built around high power or luxury, the Wind focuses on accessible performance, nimble handling, and everyday usability. The front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout also makes it approachable for drivers who want a sporty experience without the demands of a rear-wheel-drive performance car.
For the 2011–2013 model range, the Wind 1.6 16V uses a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter inline-four producing 131 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels, with the engine delivering its peak power at 6,750 rpm. AutoSpecsHub lists a 0–60 mph time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. Its curb weight of 2,751 pounds, 93.2-inch wheelbase, and 9.5-cubic-foot luggage compartment give it compact proportions with useful storage for a roadster. MacPherson strut front suspension, a torsion-beam rear setup, and disc brakes at both ends complete a practical, driver-focused package.
