In 2013–2015, Ford gave the Tourneo Connect a more energetic alternative to its practical diesel versions with the 1.6 EcoBoost 150. The van-inspired body still puts everyday flexibility first, but the petrol powertrain changes the character of the vehicle, making it better suited to drivers who want useful interior space without the slower response often associated with compact diesel MPVs. Its upright shape and adaptable cabin keep it firmly practical, while the EcoBoost gives it a more passenger-car-like feel on the move.
The 1.6-liter EcoBoost produces 148 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. That combination allows the Connect to reach 60 mph in 10.5 seconds, giving it considerably more urgency than the lower-powered versions. Fuel economy is rated at 29.4 mpg combined, so the petrol engine trades some efficiency for its stronger performance. For drivers who value both everyday practicality and a more responsive driving experience, this version offers a distinctive balance within the Tourneo Connect range.
