2015–2017 Artega Scalo Specs & Performance

The Artega Scalo marked a bold second chapter for the small German manufacturer, replacing the GT's combustion engine with a sophisticated electric powertrain while retaining the company's lightweight sports-car philosophy. Produced from 2015 to 2017, the Scalo used two rear-mounted electric motors delivering 300 kW and 575 lb-ft of torque, giving its compact two-seat body the kind of instant acceleration normally associated with far more powerful performance cars. A 37-kWh battery supplied the energy, while rear-wheel drive and direct drive kept the mechanical layout remarkably focused.

Beyond its headline performance, the Scalo was notable for its rarity and technical ambition. Its low-slung coupé body remained closely related to the Artega GT, but the electric conversion transformed the character of the car, combining zero-emission driving with a claimed 155 mph top speed and 3.6-second 0–62 mph acceleration. Double-wishbone suspension, vented disc brakes and wide staggered tires supported its sports-car credentials. With Artega planning only a small production run, the Scalo became an intriguing early example of a boutique electric performance car built before high-performance EVs became mainstream.
