The Jensen PW 4 Liter represents an early chapter in the marque’s luxury-car history, combining substantial pre-war-inspired proportions with a smooth 3.9-liter naturally aspirated inline-eight. Its front-mounted engine develops 130 hp and 187 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. For 1946–1949, the four-door luxury sedan reaches a listed 96 mph and takes 15.7 seconds to reach 60 mph, reflecting the relaxed performance character expected from a large touring-oriented automobile of its period.
The PW uses multi-link front suspension and a live rear axle, with drum brakes at both ends and 650 × 16 tyres. Its five-seat cabin provides 20 ft³ of luggage space, while the 3,583-pound curb weight contributes to its substantial road presence. Measuring 189 inches long with a 126-inch wheelbase, it carries a 22.7-gallon fuel tank and returns a listed 15 mpg combined, giving the Jensen a 340-mile total range.
