The Triumph TR3 refined the British roadster formula with traditional styling and a more purposeful sporting character. Its upright grille, long bonnet and compact two-seat body create a distinctive appearance, while the open cockpit and straightforward interior keep the focus on driving. A front-mid-engine layout and rear-wheel drive give it a conventional mechanical balance, appealing to drivers who value direct handling and uncomplicated engineering.
Produced from 1955–1957, the TR3 uses a 2-litre naturally aspirated inline-four gasoline engine with an OHV valvetrain and carburetor fuel delivery. It produces 95 hp at 5,000 rpm and 117 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm, paired with a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. It reaches 60 mph in 10.5 seconds and has a 105 mph top speed. Seating for two and 5.1 cubic feet of luggage capacity preserve its practical roadster character.
