Long-wheelbase comfort was central to the Buick Park Avenue formula, and this generation leaned heavily into the American luxury-sedan tradition. Its 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 produced 170 hp and 220 lb-ft, driving the front wheels through a four-speed automatic. With a 107 mph top speed and 10.5-second 0–60 mph time, the car was tuned more for relaxed cruising than aggressive acceleration, with the smooth V6 and spacious cabin doing much of the work.
The 1991–1993 Park Avenue paired that relaxed character with a notably large six-seat interior and 20.3 ft³ of trunk space. MacPherson struts were used at both ends, while front disc and rear drum brakes provided conventional stopping hardware. At 3,660 pounds, its substantial size and weight were part of the experience, reflecting a period when American luxury cars emphasized generous dimensions, passenger space and effortless highway travel.
