The Caterham Seven 21 Supersport takes a lightweight roadster approach with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter inline-four producing 138 hp and 115 lb-ft of torque. Its rear-wheel-drive layout is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, delivering a 5.8-second 0–60 mph time and a 131-mph top speed. With a curb weight of just 1,429 pounds, the roadster achieves a 10.36 lb/hp power-to-weight ratio, while the front-mid-mounted longitudinal engine develops peak power at 7,000 rpm.
The 1994–1999 sports roadster uses double-wishbone front suspension and a DeDion rear axle, complemented by vented front discs, solid rear discs and 205/45R16 V tyres. Two seats and 8.8 ft³ of luggage capacity provide useful practicality, while the 17.4-gallon fuel tank supports a 406-mile total range. Measuring 149.6 inches long with an 87.8-inch wheelbase, the Seven 21 Supersport is 62.2 inches wide and 45.3 inches high. With 23.3 mpg combined economy, its low weight, compact dimensions and high-revving engine keep the focus firmly on direct, driver-oriented performance.
