The Mazda Xedos 9 2.5 brought a refined and understated character to Mazda’s large-sedan range during the 1990s. Its four-door body and five-seat cabin emphasized comfort and practicality, while the front-wheel-drive layout and transverse engine gave the executive sedan a relatively straightforward mechanical configuration. With its smooth naturally aspirated V6 and restrained styling, the Xedos 9 2.5 offered a distinctive alternative to more conventional luxury sedans of its era.
The 1994–2000 Mazda Xedos 9 2.5 uses a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter V6 producing 165 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 8.3 seconds and 0–62 mph taking 8.6 seconds. Top speed reaches 137 mph, giving the Xedos 9 a balanced combination of smooth performance, everyday usability and executive-sedan comfort.
