The Tatra 613 SV was a specialised emergency vehicle built around the unusual rear-engined architecture of the 613 series. Rather than serving as a conventional family estate, it was developed as an ambulance, with an extended body providing room for medical equipment and patient transport. Its air-cooled V8 remained mounted at the rear, driving the rear wheels, while the elongated wheelbase created the space needed for its specialist conversion. This rare configuration made the SV one of the most distinctive derivatives of Tatra’s executive-car platform.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3,495 cc V8 producing 168 hp at 5,200 rpm and 199 lb·ft of torque at 3,300 rpm. Two Jikov carburettors feed the DOHC engine, and a four-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels. Built between 1990 and 1995, the 613 SV was produced in very small numbers for emergency medical services rather than ordinary private use.
