The Jensen S-V8 brought a distinctly British interpretation of the lightweight sports convertible, pairing classic Jensen character with Ford’s 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8. Its 325 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, giving the two-seat roadster a claimed 5-second 0–60 mph time and a 160 mph top speed. For 2001–2002, its compact proportions and low weight helped make the S-V8 an especially focused performance convertible.
A double-wishbone suspension at both ends and vented disc brakes provide the chassis with a sporting foundation, while 225/45 ZR17 front and 245/45 ZR17 rear tyres add wider rear contact. Weighing 2,765 pounds, the S-V8 measures 163.9 inches long on a 94.5-inch wheelbase. Its 20.1-gallon fuel tank supports a listed 18.3 mpg combined economy and 367-mile range, while the 2-seat cabin keeps the car firmly focused on open-air driving.
