The Mantara GTS Spyder brings the Marcos formula into an open-top format, pairing its distinctive British styling with a compact turbocharged powertrain and rear-wheel drive. The 1993–1999 model has a two-seat cabin, front-mounted engine, and five-speed manual gearbox, creating a straightforward roadster package with a strong emphasis on mechanical involvement. Its relatively low mass and independent suspension arrangement give the car a purposeful character, while the open body makes the performance experience more immediate than in the related coupé.
A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four produces 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, giving the GTS Spyder a 140-mph top speed and 5.4-second 0–60 mph acceleration. Weighing 2,161 lb, it benefits from a useful power-to-weight ratio, while MacPherson struts at the front and double-wishbone suspension at the rear support the chassis. Vented front discs and solid rear discs provide braking, and the 120-liter luggage capacity adds a practical touch to this uncommon two-seat British roadster.
