The Maybach 62 represented the pinnacle of Maybach’s return to the ultra-luxury sedan market, combining enormous proportions with an exceptionally refined passenger-focused cabin. Its long-wheelbase design was created around rear-seat comfort, while the imposing exterior and lavish interior gave it a presence few luxury cars could match. Beneath the formal styling, a front-mounted V12 and rear-wheel-drive layout provided the performance needed to move this substantial limousine with surprising authority.
The 2002–2010 Maybach 62 uses a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V12 producing 542 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 5.2 seconds and 0–62 mph taking 5.4 seconds. Top speed reaches 155 mph, giving the Maybach 62 an impressive combination of effortless performance, exceptional size and flagship-level luxury.
