The Maybach 57 S brought a more performance-oriented character to the already extravagant 57, combining immense proportions with the exceptional passenger comfort expected from a Maybach flagship. Its four-seat cabin and formal exterior emphasized luxury and exclusivity, while the S designation added a sharper performance focus. Beneath the imposing bodywork, a front-mounted V12 and rear-wheel-drive layout gave the long-wheelbase sedan the effortless power needed to move its substantial mass with authority.
The 2005–2010 Maybach 57 S uses a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing 604 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 4.8 seconds and 0–62 mph taking 5.0 seconds. Top speed reaches 171 mph, giving the 57 S an exceptional combination of limousine luxury, immense power and high-speed performance.
