The Actyon Sports was SsangYong's attempt to give the traditional double-cab pickup a more distinctive personality, combining a sculpted passenger cabin with a separate load bed and rugged underpinnings. Its part-time four-wheel-drive system allows rear-wheel drive for ordinary road use, with front-wheel drive engaged when additional traction is needed. This arrangement, together with its longitudinal diesel engine and live rear axle, gives the pickup a work-oriented mechanical character rather than the feel of a conventional family SUV.
