The Proton Satria Neo 1.6 brought a contemporary design and engaging road character to Proton’s compact hatchback range. Its rounded bodywork, distinctive front styling, and three-door configuration gave it a sporty appearance while keeping its dimensions manageable for urban driving. The front-wheel-drive layout and five-seat cabin supported everyday usability, while the rear hatch offered flexible space for shopping and travel essentials. Available with manual or automatic transmission, the Satria Neo provided a straightforward driving experience for motorists seeking a compact hatchback with distinctive styling and practical proportions.
For the 2011–2013 range, the Satria Neo 1.6 used a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre, 16-valve DOHC inline-four producing 111 hp at 6,000 rpm and 109 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. A five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission delivered power to the front wheels. With a top speed of 118 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 11.1 seconds, it offered performance suited to everyday driving. MacPherson-strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension contributed to its handling, while the three-door body provided 10.1–21.7 cubic feet of luggage capacity. Its combination of compact dimensions, flexible cargo space, and two transmission choices made it a versatile small hatchback.
