The third-generation Lancia Ypsilon 1.2 8v brought the model into a more modern era while retaining the distinctive Italian styling that had become its signature. Unlike the earlier three-door Ypsilon, this generation adopted a five-door layout, giving the compact hatchback greater practicality without losing its city-friendly proportions. Its front-wheel-drive configuration and naturally aspirated petrol engine kept the mechanical package simple, making it well suited to everyday urban and commuter driving.
The 2011–2016 Lancia Ypsilon 1.2 8v uses a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter inline-four producing 68 hp and 75 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 14.0 seconds and 0–62 mph taking 14.5 seconds. Top speed reaches 103 mph, while its five-door body and five-seat layout give this compact hatchback a practical edge for everyday use.
