The 1996–2000 Lancia Ypsilon 1.2 offered a simple and compact approach to Lancia’s small hatchback range. Its distinctive three-door body, Italian styling and front-wheel-drive layout made it well suited to urban driving, while the four-seat cabin gave the small car useful everyday practicality. The naturally aspirated engine kept the powertrain straightforward, creating an easygoing version of the Ypsilon focused on convenient daily use and compact dimensions.
The 1996–2000 Ypsilon 1.2 uses a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter inline-four producing 59 hp and 72 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 12.9 seconds and top speed reaching 99 mph. Its combination of compact dimensions, front-wheel drive and four-seat layout gave the Ypsilon 1.2 a practical foundation for everyday urban driving.
