The Lancia Ypsilon 1.3 Multijet 16v 70 brought diesel efficiency to the second-generation Ypsilon while retaining the model’s distinctive Italian styling and compact urban character. Its three-door body and four-seat cabin made it well suited to city driving, while the front-wheel-drive layout and compact dimensions kept it easy to maneuver. The Multijet diesel added a practical, economical character to the Ypsilon range, giving buyers an alternative to the petrol-powered versions without changing the car’s approachable everyday nature.
The 2004–2007 Lancia Ypsilon 1.3 Multijet 16v 70 uses a turbocharged 1.2-liter inline-four diesel producing 69 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed transmission, available in manual and automatic form, sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 14.6 seconds and top speed reaching 103 mph. Its modest output and efficient diesel powertrain made it particularly suited to economical everyday motoring.
