The 2000–2003 Lancia Ypsilon 1.2 16v brought a practical and characterful approach to the small hatchback segment. Its compact three-door body, front-wheel-drive layout and distinctive Italian styling made it well suited to urban driving, while the four-seat cabin gave it a more personal character than larger family-oriented models. The naturally aspirated 16-valve engine provided a straightforward petrol powertrain for everyday use, making the Ypsilon a compact alternative with a distinctly Lancia identity.
The 2000–2003 Ypsilon 1.2 16v uses a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter inline-four producing 79 hp and 86 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels, with 0–60 mph taking 10.8 seconds and top speed reaching 108 mph. Its combination of compact dimensions, front-wheel drive and four-seat layout gave the Ypsilon 1.2 16v a practical foundation for everyday urban driving.
