The QX70 3.0d is an interesting contrast to Infiniti’s petrol-powered versions because its performance comes from a very different source. The same low, muscular SUV body is paired with a turbo-diesel V6, giving the vehicle a more relaxed character while retaining the road-focused attitude that made the QX70 unusual among luxury SUVs. Rather than relying on high revs, this version builds its appeal around effortless torque and long-distance ability. In 2013–2015, it offered a distinctly European-flavored diesel interpretation of Infiniti’s sporty crossover formula.
A turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 produces 235 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 rpm. A seven-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels, and the QX70 reaches 132 mph. With 0–60 mph taking 8.0 seconds, the diesel delivers enough pace for a large SUV while its substantial torque output makes sustained cruising and everyday overtaking feel natural.
