The strongest diesel Tucson of its generation brought a noticeably more substantial character to Hyundai’s compact-SUV formula. Rather than focusing purely on economy, the 2.0 CRDi 4WD 185 paired a muscular diesel powertrain with four-wheel drive, giving the Tucson enough authority for loaded trips, steep roads, and changing conditions. Its five-door practicality remained central to the design, but the higher-output engine made this version feel more capable and confident than the efficiency-oriented diesel variants.
For 2015–2020, the Tucson 2.0 CRDi 4WD 185 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four producing 182 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed transmission sends power to all four wheels, with peak torque arriving at 1,750 rpm. The 9.6-second 0–60 mph time gives this diesel SUV a useful balance of strong mid-range response and everyday usability, without sacrificing the practicality expected from the Tucson.
