The Q70 Hybrid approached electrification from a distinctly Infiniti perspective: instead of downsizing the luxury sedan, it paired a substantial V6 with a compact electric system to add responsiveness and efficiency. The result retained the long, formal proportions expected of a flagship-style sedan while giving its powertrain a more immediate character. Rear-wheel drive and a longitudinal engine layout also preserved the traditional luxury-sedan architecture, making the hybrid system an enhancement rather than a complete change in character. The Q70 Hybrid stood out for combining those two philosophies in one package.
For 2014–2026, the Q70 Hybrid combines a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with a 1.3-kWh mild-hybrid battery system. Combined output reaches 360 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, while a seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. With a 5.3-second 0–60 mph time, the hybrid system contributes to performance as much as efficiency, giving this large sedan surprisingly strong acceleration.
