A large luxury sedan with a diesel V6 is an unusual combination, and the Q70 3.0d leaned into that difference rather than trying to imitate a conventional petrol-powered executive car. Its long, formal body carried a powertrain better suited to effortless distance, giving the Infiniti a relaxed character without sacrificing meaningful performance. The longitudinal engine and rear-wheel-drive layout also preserved a traditional grand-sedan architecture, making the diesel Q70 an interesting meeting point between luxury, cruising ability, and old-school rear-drive engineering.
For 2014–2026, the Q70 3.0d uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 producing 235 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, with peak torque arriving at 1,750 rpm. The sedan reaches 155 mph and completes 0–60 mph in 6.7 seconds, giving its diesel powertrain enough strength to match the Q70’s substantial size.
