The 2014–2016 Maserati Quattroporte Diesel takes a less conventional route to luxury, combining the dramatic presence of an Italian grand touring sedan with the effortless character of a diesel powertrain. Its long, elegant proportions and unmistakable Maserati styling give it plenty of road presence, while the spacious four-door cabin makes it a practical choice for long-distance travel. Rather than chasing the sharp, high-revving character of the marque’s petrol models, the Diesel focuses on relaxed performance and strong low-end response, giving the Quattroporte a distinctive personality within its range.
At its heart is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 271 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. It can reach 155 mph and accelerate from 0–60 mph in 6.2 seconds, giving the large sedan convincing pace when needed. With seating for five and a generous 18.7 cubic feet of luggage space, it also retains the everyday practicality expected from a luxury executive car. The result is a Quattroporte that blends Italian style with effortless diesel-powered touring ability.
