MSRP:$30,000 – $40,000
The 2008–2009 Maserati Quattroporte represents the refined side of Maserati’s grand touring philosophy, combining executive-sedan comfort with the character of a naturally aspirated V8. Its long-wheelbase proportions, four-door body and five-seat cabin make it practical enough for everyday luxury, yet the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout preserves the sporting character expected from the marque. The design also gives the Quattroporte a distinctive Italian presence without sacrificing its role as a serious luxury sedan.
A 4.2-liter V8 produces 395 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque, sending power through a six-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Performance is strong for a full-size luxury sedan, with a 168 mph top speed and a 0–60 mph time of 5.4 seconds. Double-wishbone suspension at both ends supports the chassis, while 15.9 cubic feet of luggage capacity and seating for five add useful practicality. Together, the V8’s free-revving character, rear-wheel drive and composed proportions give this Quattroporte a compelling blend of performance and executive refinement.
