The 1996–2001 Maserati Quattroporte V8 3.2 brings genuine grand-touring performance into a four-door executive-sedan format. With its long, understated profile and traditional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, it combines Maserati character with the practicality of five seats and a usable 17.5-cubic-foot luggage compartment. It is a particularly compelling version of the Quattroporte because its performance comes from a compact twin-turbo V8 rather than an oversized luxury-car engine.
At the heart of the car is a 3.2-liter turbocharged V8 producing 330 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The result is a 168 mph top speed and a 0–60 mph time of 5.6 seconds, giving this sedan serious pace for its era. MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear suspension support its rear-driven chassis, balancing performance with the composed character expected from a Maserati executive car.
